The decision to hold the reallocation ceremony at the Champions Park was made based on a recommendation from the IOC Athletes’ Commission and was subsequently approved by the IOC Executive Board (EB) in March 2024. This additional venue option for medal reallocation ceremonies allowed the athletes to have a unique and memorable experience in the heart of Paris.

The Champions Park, located in the picturesque Trocadéro Gardens with the iconic Eiffel Tower as its backdrop, played a vital role in the Olympic Games Paris 2024. These options were outlined in the Olympic Medal Reallocation Principles, proposed by the IOC Athletes’ Commission and approved by the IOC Executive Board.

The reallocation of Olympic medals is carefully considered on a case-by-case basis by the IOC and is not an automatic process. It is only carried out after all relevant procedures and remedies have been exhausted by the sanctioned athletes or teams, ensuring a fair and transparent approach to medal reallocation.
