China has taken the proactive step of seeking support from neighboring countries to aid war-torn Myanmar in its peace and reconciliation efforts. Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi discussed this initiative with counterparts from Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand during a meeting in Thailand on Friday.

During the meeting, Wang expressed concern over the current situation in Myanmar and emphasized the need for cooperation between neighboring countries to help establish economic and social conditions that would prevent further conflict in Myanmar.
