The Evolution of Supertri: A Million Dollar Team Sport Emerges as Paris 2024 Olympics Stars Take Center Stage

The realm of supertri is entering a new era, as the upcoming season is set to offer an impressive $1 million in prize money. This marks a notable shift for the series, with the majority of the prize pool now being focused on team standings.

Commencing this Sunday in Boston, the forthcoming supertri season will witness competition from 16 male and 16 female athletes across a five-round series. Notable contenders include the stars of the Paris 2024 Olympics, such as individual gold medalists Cassandre Beaugrand and Alex Yee, as well as a total of 11 Olympic medalists.

What sets this season apart? The significant change lies in the distribution of prize money, with over two-thirds of the $1.365 million pool being based on the final team standings. This strategic shift aims to recognize emerging talent in the sport and promote camaraderie within teams.

The 16 athletes will be divided among four teams: Brownlee Racing, Crown Racing, Podium Racing, and Stars & Stripes Racing. Each team will vie for victory, renewing rivalries from Paris while also fostering new team dynamics under the leadership of managers Non Stanford, Chris McCormack, Tim Don, and Parker Spencer.

The Teams League prize pool amounts to $925,000, with the leading team of four men and four women set to receive $375,000. This signifies a substantial increase from the overall team prize pot of $300,000 in 2023. Additionally, there will be prize money for the top five athletes in the Men’s and Women’s Leagues, as well as the winners of the Swim, Bike, and Run Leagues.

Moreover, each team is required to include an under-23 athlete on their roster, further promoting the involvement of promising young athletes and those on the fringes of the sport.

The roster of athletes for each team has been revealed, featuring prominent names set to compete. For example, Brownlee Racing’s lineup includes Alex Yee, Connor Bentley, and Beth Potter, while Crown Racing boasts Cassandre Beaugrand, Vincent Luis, and Georgia Taylor-Brown.

So, what’s at stake in terms of prize money? The $925,000 teams’ pool is supplemented by an additional $410,000 for the top five individuals, and a further $30,000 for the swim, bike, run leaders, bringing the grand total to $1.365 million. The distribution includes substantial rewards for the Teams League, Women’s League, Men’s League, and Discipline Leagues, heightening the stakes for the competitors.

With such extensive rewards on the line, the new supertri season is poised to be an exhilarating and fiercely competitive showcase, as some of the world’s finest athletes converge to exhibit their skills and vie for substantial prizes. Anticipate an action-packed season of supertri, where teamwork and individual excellence will reign supreme.
