According to reports from the state-owned TASS news agency, President Putin expressed his appreciation for these nations, stating that they are sincerely making efforts towards resolving the situation in Ukraine.

Putin’s comments come on the heels of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s significant visit to Ukraine, during which he engaged in discussions with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Russian President remarked that he is open to negotiations and is willing to facilitate talks if Ukraine expresses a desire to continue diplomatic discussions. He recognized the constructive role of India, along with China and Brazil, in seeking solutions to the conflict, highlighting the respect he holds for these nations.

In a separate interview with the daily Izvestia, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov posited that India possesses the unique capability to foster dialogue concerning the Ukraine situation. He underscored the positive rapport between Prime Minister Modi and President Putin, indicating that Modi can effectively communicate with both Putin and Zelenskyy, as well as engage with American officials.
