LVMH Initiatives Promote Inclusivity at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Published on September 9, 2024 – LVMH, in collaboration with Paris 2024, has taken significant strides to enhance social inclusion through sports, a vital avenue for inspiring aspirations and fostering a positive societal impact. In this endeavor, the Group has facilitated access to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 for fifteen non-profit organizations, allowing over 2,500 individuals to partake in the enchantment of this prestigious event.

LVMH has been at the forefront of this initiative, partnering closely with Secours Populaire Français since the inception of its premium partnership with Paris 2024 in July 2023. This partnership has been instrumental in launching programs aimed at encouraging children and youth from underprivileged backgrounds, aged four to twenty-five, to engage in sports. By alleviating financial barriers associated with club memberships, classes, and introductory sports sessions, LVMH has successfully funded approximately 1,344 sports club memberships over two years, with a particular emphasis on promoting gender equity by prioritizing girls in youth sports participation.

In addition to funding initiatives, LVMH has generously provided more than 700 tickets for events at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, along with additional tickets for the Parc des Champions venue for beneficiaries of the Secours Populaire Français programs. Through these efforts, LVMH has ensured that the celebration of the Games is shared by the largest possible audience, reinforcing the notion of inclusivity through sports.

During the Paris 2024 Games, over 180 children, accompanied by adults, were graciously welcomed to the Maison LVMH and the Fondation Louis Vuitton, courtesy of an event organized by Secours Populaire Français. These young visitors were given the opportunity to explore the contributions of LVMH Maisons to the Paris 2024 Games and engage with the Group’s Métiers d’Excellence through dedicated workshops featuring artisans from Louis Vuitton, where they learned about specialized craftwork.

Before enjoying various sporting events, these young individuals donned Team France colors, generously provided by Make Up For Ever, and participated in activities with the Paralympic Phryge, the mascot of the Paris 2024 Games. The program culminated in a day-long event hosted at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, where guests explored exhibitions from the Cultural Olympiades and enjoyed recreational activities at the Jardin d’Acclimatation amusement park.

The partnership with Secours Populaire Français is a continuation of LVMH’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility, which began in 2019 and 2020 with initiatives supporting women in vulnerable situations through the program “Une Journée Pour Soi” (A Day of Your Own). LVMH takes immense pride in its contributions to the remarkable success of the Paris 2024 Games, thereby ensuring an inclusive experience for all participants.

In conclusion, LVMH’s initiatives exemplify a commitment to social equity and community engagement, significantly enriching the Olympic and Paralympic experience for those who might otherwise be excluded. The Group’s ongoing dedication to these values sets a commendable standard for corporate responsibility in the realm of sports and community involvement.
