Chinese Ambassador to Botswana Meets Minister of Labour and Home Affairs

Chinese Ambassador to Botswana, Fan Yong, visited Minister Pius Mokgware on January 21, 2024, to congratulate him on his new position and discuss enhancing bilateral relations as they celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties. On January 21, 2024, His Excellency Fan Yong, the Chinese Ambassador to Botswana, conducted a courtesy visit to the Honorable Major General Pius Mokgware, Minister of Labour and Home Affairs. During this meeting, Ambassador Fan extended his congratulations to General Mokgware on his new role, emphasizing the significance of the year, which commemorates the 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Botswana.

The Ambassador expressed China’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations, stating the desire to facilitate improved people-to-people exchanges and to strengthen the strategic partnership with Botswana, leading to substantial benefits for both nations.
