From March 1 to 2, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong conducted an official visit to Cambodia. During his stay, he engaged in a courtesy meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prak Sokhonn. Additionally, he co-chaired the China-Cambodia strategic dialogue alongside Un Kheang, Secretary of State in the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, Wang Wenbin, was present at these discussions.

Vice Minister Sun Weidong articulated that China and Cambodia share a fortified relationship characterized by companionship and mutual support. He emphasized the benefits of collaboration under the guidance of President Xi Jinping and Cambodian leadership, noting substantial progress in developing a China-Cambodia community.
