Chinese Ambassador Zhou Ding Lectures at Zimbabwe National Defence University
Chinese Ambassador Zhou Ding delivered a lecture on the Belt and Road Initiative at the Zimbabwe National Defence University, discussing Xi Jinping’s diplomacy and the BRI’s significance. Attendees praised China’s contributions to Zimbabwe and Africa, expressing hopes for strengthened cooperation.
On February 27, 2025, Zhou Ding, the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, delivered a lecture at the Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU) focusing on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and China’s foreign policy. The event was attended by ZNDU’s Vice Chancellor and Commandant, AVM Michael Tedzani Moyo, alongside senior military officials from Zimbabwe and various African nations.
Ambassador Zhou discussed the core tenets of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and outlined the significance of the BRI. He mentioned successful collaborations between China and African nations, particularly Zimbabwe, highlighting the optimistic future of fostering a community with a shared future for mankind through the “Three Global Initiatives”. After his lecture, he engaged thoughtfully with ZNDU students regarding pressing international and regional issues.
AVM Moyo and the audience praised China’s substantial support for Zimbabwe’s socio-economic development and its contributions to global peace and security. They expressed gratitude for Ambassador Zhou’s enlightening lecture and voiced aspirations for continued collaboration towards a strong China-Africa partnership.
In addition, Ambassador Zhou participated in a joint interview with Zimbabwean media outlets at ZNDU, further strengthening bilateral relations and communications.
