Key Aspects of Ukraine-US Negotiations in Saudi Arabia Discussed by Zelenskyy

In recent discussions regarding upcoming negotiations in Saudi Arabia, Ukrainian Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, Mykhailo Podolyak, highlighted three pivotal aspects to be addressed with the United States. These include a framework resource agreement, military assistance specifics, and the negotiation process format with Russia.
Podolyak clarified that a unilateral ceasefire, which does not facilitate the negotiation process, is not on the table. He emphasized that a ceasefire and the resource agreement are independent processes, garnering separate attention.
Discussions currently center on key meetings between the Ukrainian and US administrations. Podolyak indicated, “There are many discussions at this stage. There is direct communication between the administrations of the presidents about the need to meet in a bilateral format. This could certainly happen in Riyadh.”
The first key issue in the talks is the ongoing work on the framework agreement between Ukraine and the US. Secondly, Podolyak underscored the importance of military assistance from the US, mentioning the necessity for critical weaponry like Patriot missiles due to ongoing missile attacks from Russia.
