In response, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Bekzod Khidoyatov emphasized that Uzbekistan is welcoming investors from numerous countries and dismissed the claims as manipulative. He urged citizens to be cautious of misinformation, highlighting the strategic partnership with China and the ongoing economic development of Uzbekistan.

Recently, various social media reports have emerged regarding a perceived increase in the number of Chinese nationals in Uzbekistan, with some sources alleging the transfer of Uzbek lands to China. Those disseminating such information accuse the Uzbek government of failing to respond effectively and maintain control over the situation.

In light of these allegations, Platina.uz sought an official statement from Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Bekzod Khidoyatov. He emphasized, “We are currently witnessing a global shift in investments. Thanks to the efforts of our president, Uzbekistan’s economy is developing, and we are pursuing an open and pragmatic policy.”

Khidoyatov highlighted that Uzbekistan is attracting investors from a variety of countries including Germany, France, Turkey, and India, not just China. He remarked, “Just as Uzbek entrepreneurs and migrants work abroad, including in China, foreigners are also coming here.”

He reassured the public by stating that concerns over the presence of foreign nationals are unfounded, asserting, “This seems to be a manipulative campaign orchestrated by a third party in their own interests. We urge our fellow citizens not to fall for such provocations.”

Khidoyatov confirmed that China is a strategic partner for Uzbekistan and maintains mutual respect for territorial integrity. He dispelled fears by comparing the situation with that of Indian students studying in Uzbekistan, stressing that their presence does not imply a takeover. He concluded, “To reiterate, Uzbekistan is no longer a closed country. We urge people to be more patient and not to believe false or provocative information.”
