Morocco’s footwear exports to Brazil have experienced a remarkable surge, with sales increasing by 3,300% in February compared to the same month last year. Additionally, the total export value rose by 1,049%, establishing Morocco as one of the top 20 suppliers of footwear to Brazil, according to data from the Brazilian Footwear Industry Association. In February, Morocco exported 1,976 pairs of shoes, achieving sales of $32,500.

Despite this growth, the average price per pair of shoes plummeted from $48.78 in February 2024 to $16.45 in 2025, reflecting a significant decrease of 66.3%. Nevertheless, Morocco maintained its position as the 17th largest footwear supplier to Brazil amidst this drop in prices. In total, Brazil imported footwear worth $49.4 million in February, marking a 7.5% decline from the previous year, although the import volume increased by 11.3%, totaling 4.5 million pairs.

For the initial two months of 2025, Brazil’s footwear imports reached $97.43 million, which is a 7.4% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The overall import volume for this period reached 7.9 million pairs, indicating a 14.1% rise. The primary footwear suppliers to Brazil include China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Paraguay.

In recent years, Morocco and Brazil have demonstrated a commitment to enhancing trade relations, with total trade between the two countries reaching a record $3.13 billion in 2022. This increase has been attributed to Morocco’s market becoming more accessible to an array of Brazilian products, as reported by Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
