US Stands Firmly with Guyana Against Venezuelan Aggression
The United States has reaffirmed its support for Guyana against Venezuelan aggression. US Ambassador Nicole Theriot stated that the US will not allow threats to Guyana’s sovereignty. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby identified the situation as concerning and emphasized the importance of peaceful resolution and respect for the 1899 arbitral decision.
The United States has reaffirmed its steadfast support for Guyana in the face of continuous aggression from Venezuela regarding border disputes. At a recent media launch, US Ambassador to Guyana, Nicole Theriot, emphasized the nation’s commitment to Guyana, clearly stating, “We support Guyana 100% against this aggression that is unacceptable, and we won’t allow Venezuela to threaten Guyana’s territory or sovereignty.”
Theriot highlighted that the United States was among the first to respond to a recent incident involving a Venezuelan coastguard vessel entering Guyanese waters. She affirmed, “We will always stand shoulder to shoulder with Guyana in supporting you and defending you.” Meanwhile, US officials are monitoring the escalating tensions closely.
