The first images from an action thriller being filmed in Saudi Arabia, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, known for “Bad Boys for Life,” have recently been unveiled. The production is taking place outside Riyadh and represents a significant advancement for the burgeoning film industry in the country.

This $40 million project marks a pivotal moment for Saudi Arabia, which has been working diligently since the lifting of its cinema ban in 2017 to become a prominent film and television hub in the Middle East and North Africa. The film features renowned Egyptian actors Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz in lead roles, filmed at Alhisn Big Time Studios in Riyadh, one of the largest production facilities in the region.

Produced by the Jeddah-based Sela, with Ivan Atkinson serving as the lead producer, the film is based on an original concept by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. Alalshikh’s initiatives have included partnerships in various entertainment sectors, influencing the growth of sports and entertainment in the Kingdom.

However, after the organization resurfaces, smuggling a dangerous drug known as Pink Lady across the Middle East, Khalid must work alongside Ghali to thwart their plans, embarking on a mission that spans several cities.

This film not only highlights the collaborative efforts of international filmmakers but also underscores Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to enhance its film industry.
