Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation in Ghana, has expressed optimism regarding the Black Stars ahead of their essential qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Chad and Madagascar. After not qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the team is focused on redeeming themselves and securing a place in the upcoming World Cup hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

In an interview with 3sports, Mr. Adams emphasized the players’ readiness, stating, “I want to call on Ghanaians to support the team. I know we’re going to win both games. The players are well energized, well prepared and psychologically I believe they are ready for both games.” He expressed confidence in their ability to win both matches.

Currently, Ghana shares nine points in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers with Comoros, who leads due to a superior goal difference. The group also includes Chad, Madagascar, Central African Republic, and Mali, making the upcoming games crucial for the Black Stars’ World Cup aspirations.

The Black Stars will initiate their training camp in Accra on March 17, 2025, in preparation for their match against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21, 2025. Following that, they will proceed to Morocco to compete against Madagascar on March 24, 2025.

In conclusion, Minister Kofi Adams has reassured the public of the Black Stars’ mental and physical readiness for their World Cup qualifiers. With the need to redeem themselves after missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations, the players are determined to succeed in their upcoming matches against Chad and Madagascar.
