Saudi Arabia Calls for Urgent Action Against Israeli Aggression in Gaza
The Saudi Council of Ministers has condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza and called for urgent international intervention. The Cabinet, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, discussed various domestic and international issues, emphasizing peace efforts and economic development initiatives. They highlighted collaborations with multiple countries and the importance of addressing humanitarian crises.
The Saudi Council of Ministers has condemned the renewed aggression by Israeli forces against the Gaza Strip, demanding urgent intervention from the international community to address this situation. During a Cabinet session chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary conveyed a statement emphasizing the necessity for immediate action to end the humanitarian crisis impacting the Palestinian people.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman provided a briefing on his recent discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Domestically, the Cabinet lauded the launch of the Saudi Architecture Characters Map, which showcases 19 distinct architectural styles reflective of the Kingdom’s geographical, cultural, and natural diversity. This initiative aims to preserve urban heritage and improve the quality of life.
Further discussions within the Cabinet focused on strategies to enhance development and service projects, alongside reinforcing social welfare initiatives to accelerate progress aligned with national ambitions. The Cabinet also reviewed the national economy’s performance, credit rating upgrades, and the ongoing implementation of necessary structural reforms in readiness for unprecedented economic transformation as envisioned by Vision 2030.
In terms of security, the Cabinet expressed gratitude for the efforts in monitoring and responding to drug trafficking networks. The cooperation with friendly nations, particularly the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, was commended for successfully intercepting a massive drug smuggling attempt based on intel from Saudi authorities.
The Cabinet approved several agreements and memoranda of understanding, including one regarding scientific collaboration between the Ministries of Interior of Saudi Arabia and Egypt and cultural cooperation with Japan. Additionally, economic cooperation agreements were established with Comoros and double taxation agreements with Iceland, as part of broader international partnerships.
Agreements on air transport services with Suriname and Lithuania were also sanctioned, alongside a collaborative effort with UNICEF for research initiatives.
