Colombia Highlights Opportunities from China’s High-Quality Development
Colombian officials emphasized the opportunities from China’s high-quality development during a recent dialogue in Bogota. Colombian officials recently highlighted the opportunities presented by China’s high-quality development during an event titled “China in Springtime: Sharing Opportunities with the World Global Dialogue” held in Bogota. They emphasized that China’s progress is intricately linked to global prosperity, particularly benefiting developing nations like Colombia.
Shen Haixiong, President of China Media Group (CMG), conveyed in a video address that global challenges require collective action, advocating for openness and collaboration over isolationist tendencies. He underscored that countries should focus on win-win cooperation rather than pursuing paths of decoupling.
Chinese Ambassador to Colombia, Zhu Jingyang, remarked that 2025 marks the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Colombia. He urged both nations to harness this milestone for mutual benefit, advocating for principles of equality and cooperation to enhance China-Colombia relations and establish a community with a shared future.
Colombia’s Acting Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, Cielo Rusinque, expressed the nation’s intent to bolster collaboration with China, citing China as Colombia’s second-largest trading partner and a primary source of foreign direct investment from Asia. Key focus areas for enhanced cooperation include infrastructure, energy transition, telecommunications, and information technology.
