Siddiq had previously referred herself to the Prime Minister’s ethics tsar in January after revelations about her residence in London properties connected to her aunt’s allies. Despite being cleared of breaching the ministerial code, she resigned to avoid being a distraction from government work. The chairman of the ACC, Mohammad Abdul Momen, maintains that the allegations against Siddiq are substantiated and would be proven in court.
