Additionally, a cash donation of around 200,000 kwacha (approximately 7,000 dollars) was also provided.

The handover ceremony took place in Lusaka at the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit’s offices, with attendance from Zambian Vice President Mutale Nalumango, Chinese Embassy Charge d’Affaires Wang Sheng, and representatives from the Zambia Chinese Association. Wang emphasized China’s empathy towards the flood victims, stating that the support was inspired by shared experiences of similar natural disasters in China. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to providing further humanitarian assistance as needed.

Wang acknowledged the longstanding relationship between Zambia and China, highlighting mutual support over the last 60 years, particularly during crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and cholera outbreaks.
