Their visit aimed to strengthen bilateral trade relations between the two countries.

The Burkinabé representatives expressed their commitment to enhancing trade ties, selecting Ghana’s ports as their preferred gateway for transit trade within the Alliance of Sahel States. Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono assured the delegation of GPHA’s commitment to trade growth and economic advancement for both nations.

General Tanye-Kulono articulated the plans for future visits to Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to explore collaborative trade opportunities. He also discussed ongoing initiatives to improve operational efficiency at the ports, aiming to establish a 24-hour operational system within the clearance processes to reduce business costs.

Col. (Rtd.) Gbevlo-Lartey reiterated President John Dramani Mahama’s dedication to strengthening relations with Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. He called on all stakeholders to engage in initiatives that would enhance trade and uplift living standards across the region.
