The Ukrainian delegation, which includes Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, is scheduled to meet with representatives from the United States in Saudi Arabia. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conveyed his optimism regarding the progress toward a ceasefire during a press conference held with Czech President Petr Pavel.
Zelenskyy emphasized the significance of having a highly skilled and technical Ukrainian team participating in these discussions. “Technically professional people. Also, separately, there will be the Minister of Defense. We will be ready to be very quick and substantive,” he remarked.
The meeting, categorized as a technical round by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Tykhyi, is not intended for political dialogue. He further clarified that there would be no interactions with Russian representatives during this meeting.
