Iran and UAE Voice Alarm Over Escalating Violence in Gaza and Yemen
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and UAE’s Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed deep concern over recent Israeli military actions in Gaza and U.S. attacks in Yemen, emphasizing the humanitarian crises resulting from these conflicts. The ministers called for urgent collective responses and ongoing regional consultations to prevent further escalation and instability.
On a recent phone call, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed profound concern regarding the recent escalations in violence, particularly Israel’s renewed aggression against Gaza and the United States’ military actions in Yemen. The Iranian Foreign Minister condemned the tragic loss of nearly a thousand Palestinian lives since the commencement of the attacks, emphasizing that Israel has breached its ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
Araghchi denounced the United States’ continued assaults on Yemen, which have led to significant civilian casualties, including many women and children, while also causing severe destruction to the nation’s already fragile infrastructure. “The crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and the U.S. aggression against Yemen require an urgent and collective response from regional and Islamic nations to halt these atrocities and prevent further insecurity across the [West Asia] region,” he stated, as reported by Press TV.
In addition, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed highlighted his serious concern over the deteriorating situation in the region, describing it as alarming. He underscored the necessity for ongoing discussions among regional countries to avert further escalation and instability.
Reports indicate that Israeli forces are intensifying airstrikes and ground operations in Gaza, targeting civilian areas, hospitals, and shelters in violation of international humanitarian law. Concurrently, U.S. airstrikes in Yemen have worsened the humanitarian crisis, with a recent attack in Sana’a resulting in civilian deaths and significant property damage, as the U.S. aims to suppress Yemen’s pro-Palestinian military efforts.
The discussion between Iran and the UAE highlights the urgent need for collective action against the ongoing violence in the Middle East. Both nations have condemned the humanitarian crises resulting from Israeli and U.S. actions and stressed the necessity for continuous dialogue among regional countries to prevent further deterioration of the situation. It remains critical for the international community to address these issues to ensure peace and security in the region.
