Russia has turned down a joint proposal from the United States and Ukraine for a comprehensive, unconditional 30-day ceasefire, suggesting instead a limited cessation of aerial attacks targeting energy infrastructure.
Parallel negotiations with the Ukrainian and Russian delegations are set to take place on Monday, aiming for a crucial diplomatic breakthrough. Senator Grigory Karasin communicated his hopeful sentiment to the Zvezda TV channel, stating, “We hope to achieve at least some progress.”
Accompanying Karasin in negotiations is Sergey Beseda, an advisor from the FSB, who together radiate a “combative and constructive” attitude, as Karasin indicated.
