Venislavskyi asserted that the Ukrainian delegation aims to coordinate a comprehensive list of specific sites impermissible for Russian strikes. This list has been prepared and is to be presented in Riyadh, where additional ceasefire agreements may also be discussed, contingent upon Russia’s stance.

The MP mentioned Ukraine’s compliance with a US proposition for a full 30-day ceasefire. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has not affirmed this agreement. Venislavskyi also suggested that US President Donald Trump could potentially exert influence over Russia’s decisions during these negotiations.

He added, “Putin is trying to buy time. He believes this delay will play into Russia’s hands… This is Putin’s tactic.” Venislavskyi speculated that if Russia persists in this manner, Trump may adopt stringent measures to compel compliance.

Previous meetings occurred on March 11 between US and Ukrainian representatives in Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian team consisted of Andriy Yermak, Head of the Presidential Office; Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defense; and Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister. Meanwhile, the US side included Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
