Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Promotes Investment Opportunities During HCM City Tour

The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce urged Vietnamese businesses to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia, following a successful networking tour in Ho Chi Minh City, where they engaged in various meetings and exhibitions. Bilateral trade between Cambodia and Vietnam reached nearly $7.8 billion in 2024, showing significant growth and interest in collaborations, particularly in agriculture.

The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) has actively encouraged Vietnamese entrepreneurs to consider exploring opportunities for partnerships and investments in Cambodia. This initiative is particularly significant as bilateral trade between Cambodia and Vietnam has nearly reached $7.8 billion in 2024, indicating robust economic relations.

A delegation from the CCC, comprised of 36 members and led by Vice-President Chhim Sok, recently visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from March 17 to 20. During this visit, the delegation conducted multiple high-level meetings, attended a major trade exhibition, and engaged in networking events designed to facilitate business collaborations.

Highlights from the visit included meetings with the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association and participation in a business matching event in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association. Additionally, the delegation toured various companies, including TV Food Company Limited, Indo-Petrol Oil Company, and Bao Ngoc Spice Manufacturing Factory. They also took part in the 2025 International Trade and Packaging Exhibition at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center.

Chhim Sok articulated the purpose of the visit, stating, “Through this visit, I invited Vietnamese businessmen to visit Cambodia to better understand the opportunities for partnerships with Cambodian entrepreneurs and potential investment in Cambodia, especially in priority sectors such as agriculture.”

There is a marked interest among the Vietnamese business sector regarding potential investment in Cambodia’s burgeoning economy, with several Vietnamese companies expressing a desire to visit Cambodia soon to explore these opportunities firsthand. The General Department of Customs and Excise reported that Cambodia-Vietnam trade reached a total value of $7.78 billion in 2024, a notable increase of 18.2% over the previous year, signalling a deepening relationship between the two nations.

This dynamic trade partnership established Cambodia as Vietnam’s third-largest trading partner following China and the United States, with Cambodian exports to Vietnam valued at $3.61 billion, reflecting a 21.6% increase, while imports from Vietnam reached $4.17 billion, marking a 15.4% rise.

The recent networking tour by the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce highlighted significant opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to engage with Cambodian entrepreneurs. As bilateral trade continues to thrive, with a notable increase in 2024, both nations may benefit from stronger partnerships in key sectors such as agriculture. The enthusiasm expressed by the Vietnamese business community suggests a promising future for collaboration and investment in Cambodia.
