Houthi Group Reports US Airstrikes in Yemen Amid Ongoing Conflict

The Houthi group reported US airstrikes on Al-Hudaydah Airport and Marib province, noting fatalities and injuries. Despite these actions, they reaffirmed their support for Gaza and resumed attacks on Israeli-linked ships, exacerbating regional tensions. US President Trump had ordered these strikes in response to Houthi aggressions.

On Saturday, Yemen’s Houthi group reported that recent airstrikes by the United States targeted both Al-Hudaydah International Airport in western Yemen and Marib province in the east. Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah TV stated that three strikes were aimed at Al-Hudaydah Airport. Additionally, five more strikes occurred in the Majzar district of Marib; however, no information on casualties or damage was disclosed.

US President Donald Trump had previously ordered a “decisive and powerful” attack against the Houthis. In response, the Houthis asserted that such threats would not impede their support for Gaza, as they intensified their missile and drone attacks on Israel and vessels in the Red Sea. This escalation coincided with Israel’s renewed military action in the Gaza Strip.

According to Houthi reports, the US airstrikes in Yemen had resulted in 79 fatalities and over 100 injuries, including among women and children. The Houthi group has been targeting ships associated with Israel in the Red and Arabian seas, as well as in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden, disrupting international trade in solidarity with Gaza. They temporarily ceased these attacks when a ceasefire was declared in January between Hamas and Israel, but have since threatened a resumption following Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza on March 2.

Recent US airstrikes targeting Al-Hudaydah International Airport and Marib province have escalated tensions in Yemen, as reported by the Houthi group. Despite casualties, the Houthis remain committed to their stance in solidarity with Gaza, as they resume action against Israeli-linked maritime activities. The ongoing conflict continues to impact regional stability and humanitarian efforts.
