Furthermore, before President Biden left office, there were considerations for an arrangement involving Glezmann in exchange for Muhammad Rahim, a detainee at Guantanamo Bay. Biden, however, stated that he would not endorse such a trade without the prior release of Afghan-American businessman Mahmood Habibi, whom U.S. officials believe the Taliban is holding despite their denial.
