This list categorizes countries into three colors: red for those completely banned, orange for those with sharp visa restrictions, and yellow for those given 60 days to remedy U.S. concerns.
Surprisingly, Bhutan—a historically peaceful Buddhist nation—is included on the red list. Citizens have expressed shock over this designation, which may stem from a 2023 immigration scam involving Nepalese individuals masquerading as Bhutanese refugees, according to The Bhutanese. Other red-listed countries include known volatile regions such as North Korea, Iran, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Libya, along with the recent inclusion of Afghanistan, and curious omissions like Iraq.
