We’re talking about lines of demarcation, talking about power, power plant ownership. Some people are saying the United States should own the power plant…because we have the expertise.” He did not specify which power plant he referenced during his remarks.
Earlier discussions between President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Trump included the potential for U.S. assistance in reviving the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is notably the largest nuclear facility in Europe. Despite being under Russian control, the Zaporizhzhia plant is not currently producing electricity, having been disconnected from Ukraine’s power grid due to Russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure. Moscow has consistently rejected calls to forfeit its control over the facility.
