U.S. and Ukrainian Delegations to Meet in Saudi Arabia for Ceasefire Talks
On March 25, 2025, Ukrainian and U.S. delegations will meet in Saudi Arabia to discuss a ceasefire proposal in the ongoing war with Russia. This follows recent negotiations and military actions continue despite diplomatic efforts. President Trump indicated territorial and nuclear plant issues are under discussion.
On March 25, 2025, Ukrainian and U.S. delegations are scheduled to convene in Saudi Arabia for discussions aimed at addressing a ceasefire proposal between Kyiv and Moscow, as reported by Ukraine’s national broadcaster, Suspilne. This meeting is a continuation of recent Russia-U.S. negotiations concerning the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation will stay an additional day in Saudi Arabia to further engage with U.S. representatives. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed in his nightly address that future meetings with U.S. officials are planned, although specific dates have not yet been disclosed.
Prior to this meeting, U.S. negotiators focused on a potential partial ceasefire after discussions with Russian representatives, which followed separate talks with the Ukrainian delegation. Amid these diplomatic efforts, U.S. President Donald Trump noted that the discussions have included”territorial lines” and the prospect of U.S. involvement in a key nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine.
Despite ongoing negotiations, military actions persist, with the Russian Defence Ministry indicating that a Ukrainian drone attempted to strike an oil pumping station in southern Russia. The drone was reportedly intercepted before reaching its target, reflecting the continued hostilities between the two nations.
The upcoming meeting between Ukrainian and U.S. delegations in Saudi Arabia signifies a critical step in addressing the conflict with Russia, particularly regarding a ceasefire proposal. While diplomatic talks are underway, both sides continue to engage in military actions, highlighting the complexities of the situation. The involvement of U.S. negotiators and officials further underscores the international nature of this conflict and its broader implications.
