Uzbekistan to Establish Major Science and Technology Park with Chinese Investment
Uzbekistan is set to establish a major science and technology park in the Samarkand region, facilitated by Chinese investment. The 300-hectare project will feature research and logistics zones, with the implementation of 12 investment projects designed to promote technological innovation and strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
On March 24, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a significant initiative for the establishment of a modern science and technology park was discussed. Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, held discussions with Wang Zhiyong and Zhang Xuan regarding the formation of this expansive park in the Samarkand region.
The planned park will occupy an area of 300 hectares and is set to feature dedicated research and logistics zones. Furthermore, this development will encompass the execution of 12 major investment projects spanning various sectors. The initiative is envisioned to foster the exchange of innovative technologies and the production of high-value-added products.
Moreover, this collaboration is expected to strengthen the investment relationship between Uzbekistan and China. Xinjiang New Vision Investment and Development Company, headquartered in the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone, will leverage its extensive experience in managing industrial zones and executing strategic investment projects to contribute to this venture.
