This took place during separate ceremonies held in Malacañang, where Marcos received the credentials of Ambassadors Edgar Rodrigo Rojas Garavito, Sin Saream, and Yuliia Oleksandrivna Fediv respectively.

In discussions with Ambassador Garavito of Colombia, President Marcos indicated potential for deeper cooperation, stating, “I believe there’s more that we can do, that we can explore many other sectors, and strengthen and deepen the relations between our two countries,” according to a press release from the Presidential Communications Office.

Regarding Cambodia, Ambassador Sin shared his intent to enhance collaboration, emphasizing mutual benefits. Marcos replied, “I welcome you to the Philippines and I look forward to even stronger relationships between our two countries and to strengthen what is already a very strong union between our two countries.”

For Ukraine, Ambassador Fediv expressed her commitment to nurturing bilateral relations, focusing on peace and prosperity. In response to Fediv, Marcos affirmed the Philippines’ support for global peace efforts, stating, “We hope to continue – we will always support you in your efforts for peace.”

The Philippines has maintained diplomatic relations with Colombia since 1946, Cambodia since 1957, and Ukraine since 1992, with approximately 100, 7,500, and 24 Filipinos residing in these respective countries, respectively.
