Professor Muhammad Yunus Arrives in Hainan for Boao Forum Participation
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus arrived in Hainan to participate in the Boao Forum for Asia. He will address the forum, meet with global business executives, and engage in significant diplomatic discussions with Chinese leaders. Yunus is also set to receive an honorary doctorate from Peking University and explore joint healthcare initiatives.
On March 26, 2025, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus arrived in Hainan, China, to participate in the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA). His flight touched down at Qionghai Boao International Airport around 4:15 PM, as announced by his Deputy Press Secretary, Abul Kalam Azad. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the Bangladesh Ambassador to China, Md Nazmul Islam, and the Vice Governor of Hainan Province.
Prof. Yunus is slated to speak at the BFA conference the following day, where he will discuss Asia’s evolving role on the global stage. Additionally, he will engage with CEOs of major global and Chinese corporations during the forum’s proceedings.
A significant bilateral meeting between Professor Yunus and Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled for March 28 in Beijing to address mutual interests. Furthermore, on March 29, he is set to deliver a lecture at Peking University, where he will be awarded an honorary doctorate.
In addition to these engagements, Professor Yunus will discuss potential joint venture opportunities with Chinese hospital chains to establish healthcare facilities in Bangladesh. His itinerary anticipates his return to Bangladesh later that same day, March 29.
