China and Honduras have made significant progress in bilateral cooperation over two years of diplomatic ties, enhancing technology and trade, particularly in coffee exports. In recent years, significant advancements have been observed in the bilateral cooperation between China and Honduras, following the establishment of diplomatic relations two years ago. According to Honduran officials spearheading this partnership, the signing of a joint communique on March 26, 2023, marked Honduras becoming the 182nd nation to formalize ties with China.

Ambassador Salvador Moncada indicated that Honduras has witnessed remarkable progress in technological development since the onset of diplomatic ties. The country’s coffee export sector has benefited substantially, with exports to China rapidly tripling over the past year and a half. Moncada elaborated, highlighting the potential of new technologies, particularly in artificial intelligence, which China has adeptly developed.

In addition, Eduardo Enrique Reina, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras, commended the swift expansion of collaboration within a short timeframe. On a different note, China and Thailand have officially commenced their sixth joint maritime exercise, “Blue Strike-2025,” at a military port in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province. The exercise will span until early April and features comprehensive joint operations across maritime and land training scenarios.

The opening ceremony of the exercise featured a Chinese commander’s order, followed by the playing of national anthems and addresses by high-ranking naval officers from both nations. This year’s training entails various tactical disciplines such as mine countermeasures and marine search and rescue operations, aimed at enhancing mutual cooperation and operational capabilities.

In discussing the importance of the exercise, soldier Li Shuaiqiang from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy emphasized the goal of improving tactical and operational capabilities. The joint exercise serves as a critical initiative to fortify military ties and contribute to regional maritime security. Another participant, Xiao Zehua, expressed pride in representing the PLA Navy Marine Corps, underlining the exercise’s role in showcasing military professionalism and reinforcing China-Thailand friendship.
