During their discussions, President Xi shared his personal experiences with Bangladeshi mangoes and jackfruit, labeling them “delicious” and anticipating significant exports of these fruits to China in the near future. Professor Yunus articulated a desire for China’s active role in fostering peace and stability, particularly regarding the Rohingya crisis, advocating for a safe return of displaced individuals to Myanmar. Among the Bangladeshi delegation were high-ranking officials and advisers addressing diverse areas, including road transport, energy, and special development goals.

Upon his arrival in Beijing, Yunus received a warm welcome, including a guard of honor, and was greeted at the airport by Vice Minister Sun Weidong. His itinerary includes significant engagements such as participation in the Boao Forum for Asia and three roundtable discussions focused on infrastructure, manufacturing opportunities, and youth entrepreneurship.

Additionally, Yunus is set to receive an Honorary Doctorate from Peking University, followed by a speech, and will provide an exclusive interview to prominent media outlets regarding the multifaceted relations between Bangladesh and China.
