India and US Discuss Bilateral Trade and Cooperation Ahead of Tariffs
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri spoke with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau to discuss bilateral trade and cooperation in defence, technology, and migration. On Friday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri engaged in discussions with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau regarding bilateral trade relations, particularly emphasizing the necessity of reducing trade barriers to achieve a balanced partnership. Mr. Misri and Mr. Landau also explored cooperation in defence, technology, migration, and mobility, as reported by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

In addition, both Mr. Misri and Mr. Landau addressed strategies to enhance security and prosperity within the Indo-Pacific region.
Mr. Landau expressed gratitude for India’s assistance in tackling illegal immigration to the United States and requested ongoing cooperation from the Indian government. In closing, Mr. Misri congratulated Mr. Landau on his recent Senate confirmation and extended an invitation for him to visit India at the earliest opportunity, further strengthening bilateral ties.
