Apple has been actively diversifying its iPhone production to lessen its dependence on China, with India emerging as a significant beneficiary of this strategy. A recent report from The Economic Times indicates that Foxconn plans to significantly increase its iPhone assembly operations in India.

According to the report, Foxconn aims to assemble between 25 to 30 million iPhones in India by the end of the year. In 2022, Foxconn assembled approximately 12 million iPhones in India, highlighting that the new production figures would represent a substantial increase.

A crucial factor for Foxconn’s expansion is the establishment of a new facility in Bengaluru, which is anticipated to become the second-largest iPhone assembly plant within Foxconn’s operations. Additionally, the report notes that trial iPhone production runs have already been conducted in recent months, although both Apple and Foxconn have refrained from commenting on this matter.
