Chinese Ambassador Fan Yong Engages with Enterprises at Working Conference in Botswana
Chinese Ambassador Fan Yong attended the 2025 Working Conference of the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Botswana on March 28. He discussed recent economic advancements in China under Xi Jinping’s leadership and encouraged Chinese enterprises in Botswana to maintain integrity, fulfill social responsibilities, and actively participate in initiatives like the “Belt and Road” to strengthen bilateral ties.
On March 28, 2023, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana, Fan Yong, attended the 2025 Working Conference of the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Botswana, accompanied by Lan Yuqiang, the embassy’s economic affairs counselor, as well as representatives from Chinese enterprises operating in Botswana.
During his address, Ambassador Fan highlighted significant advancements in China’s economy over the past year, emphasizing the effective leadership of the Party Central Committee under the guidance of Comrade Xi Jinping. He noted the rapid development of new quality productivity, the acceleration of a modern industrial system, and the positive outcomes of high-level opening up initiatives.
Ambassador Fan conveyed that recent sessions from the Chinese government outlined a commitment to deep reforms and a focus on high-quality development. He urged Chinese enterprises to bolster their confidence, maintain strategic focus, operate with integrity, prioritize safety, and uphold social responsibilities. Furthermore, he encouraged these enterprises to enhance their image and actively participate in high-quality initiatives, including the “Belt and Road” initiative and the outcomes from the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
