They proposed hosting a conference to address reconstruction efforts in the war-affected area.

Additionally, the two leaders signed a joint declaration to enhance Egypt-France relations to the level of a Strategic Partnership, highlighting a commitment to increased cooperation and exploring new opportunities between the two nations. The agreements signed during this ceremony reinforce their bilateral ties, addressing various regional and international matters.

In their discussions, Sisi and Macron acknowledged the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and emphasized their commitment to preserving Syria’s unity, advocating for a political process that fosters inclusivity during Syria’s transition.

Macron firmly declared, “We are opposed to the displacement of populations and to any annexation of both Gaza and the West Bank,” equating such actions to violations of international law that jeopardize regional security. Furthermore, he denounced Hamas’s involvement in Gaza governance and expressed support for a reconstruction strategy supported by the Arab League.

Following the press conference, Macron coordinated a teleconference about the situation in Gaza with U.S. President Donald Trump, Egyptian President Sisi, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II to address the crisis effectively and collaboratively.
