India Announces Record 84 Athletes for Paris 2024 Paralympics

India has announced its largest-ever Paralympic contingent with 84 athletes for the Paris 2024 Games. Avani Lekhara, who made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Paralympics, will return to compete in Paris. Additionally, Sumit Antil, the men’s F64 javelin throw gold medalist, is also set to participate, having previously established a world record in his event.

Other notable participants include Bhavina Patel, the first Indian to secure a medal in table tennis at the Paralympics, who will compete in singles and doubles. Harvinder Singh, recognized for winning India’s first archery medal in the Paralympics, will compete in both individual recurve open and mixed team recurve open events.
