He expressed concerns regarding the opposition Congress party in Kerala, stating they attempted to undermine CPI(M)’s critiques of the BJP and RSS by opposing the term “neo-fascist.” Karat accused Congress of engaging in ‘cheap politics’ that distort the Left’s battle against authoritarian tendencies in India. He underscored the violence faced by CPI(M) members allegedly perpetrated by RSS supporters as indicative of true resistance against the BJP in the region.
