Peacock to Debut “Gold Zone” for the 2024 Paralympics Following Olympic Success

Peacock is set to reintroduce its successful program, “Gold Zone,” for the upcoming Paralympics in Paris following a remarkable performance during the Olympic Games. This innovative show will premiere on the streaming platform commencing Thursday, August 29, and will run daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET until Saturday, September 7, the penultimate day of the Paralympics.

Molly Solomon, the Executive Producer and President of Programming for NBC Olympics and Paralympics, expressed enthusiasm about the show’s transition to the Paralympics, stating, “Coming off its resounding success during the Paris Olympics, ‘Gold Zone’ will make its Paralympics debut and provide a whirlwind trip around the Games each day as Team USA’s athletes compete against the world’s best.” This statement underscores the commitment of NBCUniversal to showcase top-tier international competition.

Hosting “Gold Zone” will be Carolyn Manno, who returns for her sixth appearance at the Paralympic Games. Ms. Manno has a distinguished background with NBCUniversal, having served as a studio host from 2014 to 2020 and recently as a sled hockey reporter during the Beijing Paralympics in 2022. Moreover, she hosted coverage for the recent Paris Olympics on the USA Network, enhancing her credentials for this role.

In addition to “Gold Zone,” Peacock will also reinstate its “Multiview” feature, which will offer a comprehensive daily feed featuring top live Paralympic events from Thursday, August 29, to Wednesday, September 4. Kelly Campbell, President of Peacock and Direct-to-Consumer at NBCUniversal, emphasized the significance of these offerings, noting, “‘Gold Zone’ and ‘Multiview’ broke through as two fan-favorite features during the Olympics, and we know they will continue to be valuable in driving discovery and engagement during the Paralympics. They epitomize Peacock’s unique, industry-leading live streaming experience, seamlessly showcasing both the magic of the Games and the power of the platform.”

Overall, Peacock is anticipated to deliver approximately 1,500 hours of live coverage throughout the 2024 Paralympics, in addition to offering over 140 additional hours on traditional television networks such as NBC, USA Network, and CNBC. This extensive coverage represents NBCUniversal’s dedication to providing accessible and engaging programming for audiences to celebrate the achievements of para-athletes globally.
