Cambodia’s tallest bridge in Pursat province has reached a significant construction milestone with the successful installation of the last T-beam, which leads into the final phase of its development. Constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation, the bridge is positioned over the Russey Chrum river, standing 80 meters tall. Integration of innovative technologies has facilitated the project’s extensive progress, with a majority of the National Road No. 10 reconstruction already completed.

On March 9, 2025, significant progress was reported on Cambodia’s tallest bridge, located in Pursat province. The final T-beam was successfully installed, marking the transition to the last phase of construction for this pivotal infrastructure project. Constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), this bridge, designated as Bridge No. 28, spans the Russey Chrum river valley in Chhay Luk village, Osom commune, within the Veal Veng district.

The bridge stands at an impressive height of 80 meters, extending 530 meters in total length and measuring 10 meters in width. The successful installation of the last T-beam signifies the completion of the primary construction challenges, providing a sturdy foundation for future traffic operations, as asserted in a press release from the CRBC Cambodia Office.

Notably, the bridge’s proximity to a national nature reserve and a first-level water source protection area posed considerable construction challenges. Liu Zhaowei, a project leader at CRBC, highlighted the team’s ability to navigate difficulties associated with deep foundation excavation and the safety risks inherent in high pier construction. Moreover, the project adopted over ten innovative technologies to enhance construction safety and ensure the integrity of the concrete structures.

The overall reconstruction of National Road No. 10 encompasses a total length of 197.3 kilometers, with 96.16 percent of the project completed to date, indicating substantial progress in enhancing the transport infrastructure in the region.
