China Affirms Its Position as Bangladesh’s Most Reliable Friend
Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen affirmed that China is Bangladesh’s most reliable friend. He made this statement during a dinner held for the Bangladesh Friendship delegation. The visit aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and cooperation, reflecting mutual interests following political changes in August.
The Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, asserted on Monday that China stands as the most dependable friend of Bangladesh, emphasizing that the bilateral relationship will undergo continuous reinforcement. He stated, “China is the most dependable and reliable friend of Bangladesh. China has consistently pursued a policy of friendship and good neighbourliness with all the people of Bangladesh.”
Ambassador Wen expressed these sentiments during a dinner hosted by the BNP Standing Committee member who led a 21-member Bangladesh Friendship delegation that visited China from February 24 to March 6. This gathering took place at the residence of the delegation leader and his wife, Rokhsana Khondker, in Gulshan.
During his address to the delegation, Ambassador Wen noted, “I am certain that you have felt the warm and friendly sentiments of the Chinese people towards the people of Bangladesh.” He conveyed optimism that this visit would further reinforce their long-standing friendship and enhance cooperation in various fields.
The ambassador attentively listened as delegation members shared their experiences from the visit, with many emphasizing the importance of enhancing bilateral ties. Dr. Moyeen Khan expressed appreciation for the ambassador’s effort in orchestrating the remarkable tour. The delegation comprised representatives from eight political parties, alongside students, scholars, journalists, and researchers.
Dr. Khan noted the gracious hospitality accorded by Chinese authorities during their stay. He expressed hope that the ongoing development of people-to-people relationships would benefit both nations moving forward. The Bangladesh Friendship Delegation concluded their 11-day trip on March 6, which was initiated at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC). This visit aligns with China’s strategy to fortify multiparty relations with Bangladesh following the political transitions of August.
In summary, the Chinese Ambassador’s statements underscore the significance of the relationship between China and Bangladesh, marking it as both a trustworthy and reliable friendship. The recent visit of the Bangladesh Friendship Delegation to China is a clear indication of the mutual desire to strengthen ties and cooperation for the benefit of both nations. Given the diverse representation within the delegation, this initiative can serve as a foundation for enhanced future relations.
