China, Russia, and Iran have pledged to enhance coordination within BRICS and the SCO following a diplomatic meeting in Beijing. This agreement, aimed at fostering unity on multilateral platforms, was made public by the countries’ deputy foreign ministers, focusing on issues including Iranian nuclear matters.

In a recent meeting in Beijing, China, Russia, and Iran established a commitment to enhance their collaborative efforts within key international organizations, specifically BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The agreement was articulated by the respective Deputy Foreign Ministers from each country, solidifying their intention to work together on multilateral platforms.

Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, who led the meeting, emphasized the necessity of this cooperation. He noted, “The parties agreed to support and strengthen coordination on multilateral platforms and within international organizations such as BRICS and the SCO.” The meeting primarily addressed matters related to Iranian nuclear issues. Sergey Ryabkov represented Russia, while Kazem Gharibabadi represented Iran in these discussions.
