Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Ticket Sales Surpass Two Million
As the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games draw closer, it has been announced that over two million tickets have been sold, marking a significant milestone with almost one million tickets purchased since the commencement of the Olympic Games on July 24, 2024. Following the tremendous success of the Olympic Games, which saw a record 9.535 million tickets sold, anticipation is now building for the upcoming Paralympic Games, set to commence on August 28th with an Opening Ceremony in the heart of Paris.
To date, the sales figure for Paralympic tickets has reached an impressive two million, including a remarkable one million sold within the last month alone. Attendees of the Games will be able to extend the vibrant celebration that began with the Olympic events, enjoying the distinctive atmosphere associated with the competition venues and the 22 Para sports slated for display.
Interestingly, 52 percent of Paralympic ticket purchasers will experience their first encounter with the Paris 2024 Games during the Paralympics, while the remaining 48 percent had already attended the Olympic Games. Excitement for these events is particularly palpable among local spectators, as over 90 percent of the tickets have been sold to buyers in France and the surrounding Paris region, highlighting a strong local interest in the upcoming competitions.
In detail, 92 percent of the ticket buyers reside in France, while the remaining 8 percent hail from international locations, with the United Kingdom accounting for 28 percent, Germany for 14 percent, and the United States for 10 percent. Notably, the ticket buyers represent a diverse array of 144 countries, reinforcing the global appeal of the Paralympic Games.
All available ticketing information can be accessed via the official Paris 2024 ticketing website, where the public is encouraged to frequently check for updates as further tickets may be released until September 8, 2024.
In an exciting development, the Paris 2024 organizing committee is also offering hospitality packages for the first time at the Opening Ceremony on August 28th. The official hospitality provider, On Location, will host guests at an outdoor garden experience in the Jardin des Tuileries prior to the grandstand event showcasing the athletes’ parade and a performance directed by Alexander Ekman. This garden party will coincide with the exhibition ‘When Arts Meet Athletes,’ created in collaboration with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Paris 2024, featuring a collection of audiovisual displays juxtaposing the movements of Paralympic athletes with masterpieces from the Louvre.
For the duration of the Games, attendees can select from two types of hospitality packages, which include options such as the ‘Lounge’ package that offers premium seating near the action and the ‘Fan Kit’ package tailored to various preferences and budgets. Hospitality options are available for eight Para sports, including Para athletics, wheelchair basketball, blind football, and others, as well as for both ceremonies. These packages aim to immerse patrons in the passion and emotion that are hallmarks of the Paralympic athletes’ performances and the historic venues in which they will compete.
