The BYD Han L EV and Tang L EV have recently commenced presales in China, each priced at 270,000 yuan (approximately 37,300 USD). Equipped with a formidable 1000V high-voltage system, these models feature 10C charging capabilities, achieving zero-to-hundred acceleration in roughly two seconds and offering over 1,000 hp. Both vehicles are built upon the innovative Super e-Platform.

Currently regarded as the premier offerings from BYD, these flagship models were unveiled at a design conference in January 2025. They became available for preorder from March 17, with a competitive introductory price of 37,300 USD.

The BYD Han L EV presents a sophisticated sedan design, showcasing the brand’s signature aesthetic. The vehicle features distinctive sharp headlights with a chrome-plated element and an engraved 汉 (Han) emblem. Its elegant profile includes flush door handles, a streamlined roofline, and low beltline, measuring 5050 mm in length, 1960 mm in width, and 1505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2970 mm.

Inside, the Han L EV showcases a striking dual-color interior scheme. A prominent 汉 character appears on the D-shaped steering wheel, while the center console houses an expansive 15.6-inch floating screen. This model leverages a 1000V high-voltage platform, coupled with an 83.2 kWh LFP battery pack that offers a range of 601 to 701 km (CLTC).

The battery pack also supports rapid 10C charging using BYD’s megawatt charging pile, allowing an addition of 400 km of range within just five minutes, akin to traditional refueling times. In terms of power output, the standard Han L EV variant has a single electric motor generating 500 kW (670 hp), while the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version reaches 1,086 hp.

The enhanced performance rates of the 4WD variant include a top acceleration of 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and subsequently from 100 to 200 km/h in 4.74 seconds, with a maximum speed of 305 km/h. Here, the rear electric motor can achieve an impressive 30,511 rpm and maintains 524 kW of output even at 30,000 rpm.

The pricing for the Han L EV spans from 270,000 to 350,000 yuan (approximately 37,300 to 48,350 USD). Conversely, the BYD Tang L EV emerges as a spacious SUV featuring a 2+3+2 seating arrangement, characterized by thin running lights and integrated headlights. Measuring 5040 mm in length, 1996 mm in width, and 1760 mm in height, the Tang L EV also features a 2950 mm wheelbase.

Inside the Tang L EV, a dual-color theme covers the interior space in orange and matte gray accents, housing a 15.6-inch display with augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) capabilities. The powertrain mirrors that of the Han L EV, providing 500 kW (670 hp) in the standard variant while the 4WD configuration offers 810 kW (1,086 hp), equipped with a larger 100.5 kWh LFP battery pack.

Range options for the Tang L EV include models achieving 560 km, 600 km, or 670 km under CLTC conditions. Its acceleration capabilities enable it to reach 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, with a 100 to 200 km/h acceleration time of 6.19 seconds, and a top speed of 287.4 km/h. The Tang L EV presales are available at a price range of 280,000 to 360,000 yuan (38,690 to 39,740 USD).
