Paris 2024: A Revolutionary Celebration of Achievement with the Victory Selfie

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games heralded a significant evolution in the medal ceremony by introducing the inaugural Victory Selfie, allowing Olympians to immortalize their achievements in a moment that would change their lives forever. Utilizing the state-of-the-art Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition, athletes captured their moment of triumph on the podium alongside their fellow medalists.

In partnership with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), and in alignment with Paris 2024’s uplifting motto, “Games Wide Open,” Samsung Electronics unveiled the Victory Selfie initiative for the upcoming Paralympic Games. This innovative experience took place in the Mixed Zone following the official medal ceremonies across various sports, including Para Taekwondo, Para Athletics, and Wheelchair Fencing, among others.

Paralympians from diverse nations congregated once again to celebrate not only their personal achievements but the camaraderie fostered through friendly competition. The selfies, which captured the unfiltered joy of victory, were automatically uploaded to the Athlete365 application, enabling athletes to easily download and share their cherished moments with family, friends, and supporters globally.

Samsung Newsroom showcased several notable images from these memorable medal moments at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Notable captures included: Silver medalist Luis Mario Najera and gold medalist Asadbek Toshtemirov, who, alongside their compatriots, commemorated their achievements in Para Taekwondo; and for the Women’s K44 +65kg event, a heartwarming image of gold medalist Amy Truesdale with her fellow medalists from different nations.

Thus, the introduction of the Victory Selfie not only enhances the athlete’s commemorative experience but also serves to highlight the remarkable spirit of unity and glory that defines the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
